Page 6: Purpose

“
As illogical as it seems, intuition tells me this is what I need. A purpose powerful enough to distract me from my suffering and ease the darkness within my mind. I can’t think of a more beautiful double-barrelled solution — helping others while helping myself.”

Purpose
March 2018

Should, could. ⠀
Such insignificant words. ⠀
Words that indicate mere possibilities but require no commitment. Worthless, powerless. Should slides off the tongue too easily, but often leaves us with a bitter aftertaste of guilt or regret. Should stagnates the soul and shrinks the mind. I’m tired of should, of could. I’m tired of endless contemplations, of countless hesitations. It’s the reason I’m going to pursue a different path. A path that confronts fear, but follows intuition. I’m going to attempt to transform suffering into something empowering, something bigger than myself. ⠀
⠀
Next year, in March 2019, I aim to embark on the greatest adventure of my life. A unique challenge to raise money for charity, one that will take me through adversity, kindness and fear. It’s an idea that pushes the boundaries of rationality. Right now, this may be beyond my capability, physically, mentally and emotionally. I’m more vulnerable than I’ve ever been. However, as illogical as it seems, intuition tells me that I need a purpose powerful enough to distract me from my suffering and ease the darkness within my mind. I can’t think of a more beautiful double-barrelled solution — helping others while helping myself.⠀
⠀
With warmth,
